Yes, they are surprisingly sweet. I met them (or their friends) before in Pasar Minggu. They weren’t like most children with harsh life in Jakarta which are usually rude, grumpy, and foxy. One of them ask me politely to give her some money to buy a water because she was so thirsty. She went to the mini market and buy a bottle of water, went out and say thank you to me with a big smile on her face.

Btw I really enjoy reading your blog. It is interesting to see my city from your point of view.

    Nice to meet you 🙂

Thank you so much for your message and for sharing your story – I’m so happy that you had a lovely experience with these children also. There used to be a group of them working near where I was staying in Pasar Minggu and I used to buy them ice-creams and food whenever I saw them. I miss their beautiful smiling faces now that I have moved to another area.

Thanks also for reading our blog and sorry it’s been neglected this year.. hopefully there’ll be more posts later in the year as I will be out of Jakarta for the next few months.

      Hati hati 🙂
